ParticipantHello Father,
I’m not doubting that this person didn’t see a lot of work done on the stairs, but it had to be leveling for safety (the toppers) or even the addition of the railings. I was there a couple days ago and the railing on the right is going to be needing some repair again soon. I also found a high resolution photo of Kinderman and matched up some ‘holes & pitting on the lower steps and they matched up nicely, minus the ‘toppers’. Thanks for the help!April 18, 2012 at 6:49 PM in reply to: THE EXORCIST listed #1 on Time Out’s 100 Best Horror Films #26031AmityPhotos

ParticipantThat would be awesome! Wish he would do a Q&A in NY, Philly, or DC

ParticipantShe has! And it was so hard not to pull out my 8×10 that was already signed by Linda Blair and Jason Miller when she was leaving the theater.

ParticipantMany items are reused over and over again. I believe the twilight zone was known for that. I guess prop houses just kept using stuff until it becomes garbage. It seems now that companies are buying off all the props in current movies and reselling them on their websites (e.g. Premiere Props). I'd love to run through some of the OLD studio prop houses in Hollywood, probably so many pieces laying around that would be priceless to collectors.
Though completely different, I live right near Scranton, Pa, which is where the US version of The Office is based (and former home of Jason Miller)- every year, people from the show come to our Steamtown Mall and collect items from local businesses to use as props for the show.

ParticipantThanks Epic, thats what I'll probably have to do. I have that photo in 16×20 size. I bought it years ago and Linda refused to sign it- She just had her assistant give me my money back. Though I've seen it for sale many times on ebay signed.

Father Bowdern- Its quite possible being one of a kind, but it does have a familiarity about it

ParticipantSomeone that made lifesize statues (star wars, classic universal, freddy, jason, etc), had one up on ebay for $60. They mentioned they were going to ComicCon and then everything disappeared on ebay (no history at all). I unfortunately deleted their site at some point and have recently spent hours looking for them. Their statues were amazing and thought it would be easy to find them through google. I thought wrong.

ParticipantMet Ellen in 2006, at a book signing. Super nice, but the store workers wouldn't let her sign anything but the books. Waited outside for a bit and she happily signed a couple of my lobby cards and stuff for the 2 other people that waited. Heres a pic I took of her at the signing:

ParticipantI’ve told the story a thousand times. When i was around 5 or so (early 80s), my parents pretty much forced me to watch the film (though they deny it). I was infatuated with the devil (cartoony version), so they kept telling me the ‘devil movie’ is coming on. This was on regular tv, back when a movie premiere was a big thing. I was excited. I lasted to the edited masturbation scene and freaked out. Tried turning on the stereo, block it out, etc. Had terrible nightmares for years- if there was a door in my dreams, i feared Regan was beyond it. Tried watching it after that, but always wussed out until I was like 13. Thats probably why it became my favorite.
For all the years i feared the movie, I had a weird version of the movie in my head. With no internet, and the way the vhs box was, you weren’t desensitized to the makeup effects like one could be now.

ParticipantThe cube/cell is probably my most prized possession. From what i heard, the cube was given in a black box to the main characters – Linda Blair supposedly has hers displayed in her office. Jason Miller, not surprisingly according to his local legend, didn’t take such good care of his. The top has a mark as if he left a candle melt on top of it. I’ll try adding a couple more of my Jason Miller items.

ParticipantI have the gift that William Friedkin gave Jason Miller after doing the film. Its a cube with a film cell inside that says “In Appreciation Jason Miller- The Exorcist- from William Friedkin 1974”. Its all in the Exorcist font. When I purchased it from a local guy in Scranton, where Mr. Miller lived & died, he threw in Jason’s SAG card as well.
