The next time you watch the original Exorcist, pay attention to the scene when Karras sprinkles holy water onto Reagan. Watch above Karras’s head. I’ve always felt that there was a “presence” over his head. If you notice, there’s a definite pan of the camera in this shot and an emphasis on the ceiling. I wonder if this was intentional by the film makers?!?
Watch it and see what I mean…
