That, or are you watching this with a home theatre set-up that may not be configured correctly? I recall once I could not hear certain things with the 5.1 track because of that.

Funny, last time I watched my TVYNS dvd I didn’t hear the scream. Played it back, still nothing. Tried it on the computer and it was there clear as day. 😛

I have indeed gone through the sound congfiguration options on my set-up and the other TV downstairs but had no joy. Definitely cursed!

Blizzi – Very interesting indeed. I will have to try playing it on my laptop and see whether I can hear it if I plug the headphones in. Something must be afoot…

I know it’s on mine for certain. I was at work watching it with a kid that had never saw it before on a little portable DVD player. We work in a very public place and when that occured it was so lous I know everyone in the building heard it…..

I apologise in advance if this has been discussed previously – I did look but couldn’t find anything I promise!

One thing that has always bugged me about my copy of ‘TVYNS’ is that for some reason, the infamous MERRIN scream just after Father Merrin walks into the house and whilst Sharron is walking down the stairs is absent. I recall this being on both an original VHS copy prior to the film being banned in the UK in the early 80s AND the 1997 version.

Has anyone else experienced this or have I just got a cursed copy?

I watched it again last night. New dvd/vhs player. I didn’t hear the scream. Nor (if memory serves) the noises that disturb Sharon enough for her to put on earphones… I’ll try it on comp today… Very strange.
