The crucifix thing isn’t a goof or something. If someone put it there before, they can put it there again. It’s supposed to be a mystery, though I say it was Karl.
Most people can’t spot the wires holding up Linda, so maybe the editors or whoever didn’t notice them either. I can spot them easily though..
Most people are engaged in the scene, and if you’re just watching the film and letting the story take you on a journey, then you’re not keeping an eye out for wires.
It probably wasn’t until my 15th viewing of the film that I began to really examine the scene, etc., and the fact on DVD instead of the Theater.
Excellent film.
I have never been able to spot the wires. If at all possible could someone post a screen shot with a circle or something showing proof that the wires are still visible?
Howdy….
I like to think that Regan herself demonically scuttled down the stairs and retrieved the crucifix,while her mother and Kinderman were discussing denning`s demise.
I also like to think that she scuttled out her window late at night(rather spider like)to achieve the church desecrations.which is where she probably got hold of the crucifix in the first place.
After all later in the film we see she is free to move at will,even though she is suppossed to be tied down…Kinderman. seeing her shadow moving freakily past her bedroom window?
The Crucifix Scene:Chris finds the crucifix under Regans pillow and ask’s everyone who put it there!
Okay, here we go….then after that scene and Kinderman leaves and we hear Regan and Pazuzu fighting and chris enters the room , Regan is masturbating with the crucifix…Where did this 2nd crucifix come from?
We know Chris wouldn’t have put it back under Regans pillow?
Exorcism Scene:When Regan breaks her straps and begins to levitate toward the ceiling, it’s plan to see the crane lifting her up.
This “kinda” ruined it for me because it exposes the truth that this is just a “movie” but ruins the scene.
Worst of all even back then in 1973 they usually had Continuity person because movies usually aren’t filmed in proper order of released film and their SUPPOSED to make sure clothes, shoes, Crucifix match up with the other scenes.
Still…..With Freidkin having such an eye for detail, why did he not “block” the crane so it wouldn’t show?
Don’t get me wrong this is the greatest horror movie of all time and I realize it’s easy to point out mistakes done many years ago but I wish they would have “touched up” the scenes for DVD.
