Yep, this is definitely the best version of the film. Watched it the other day after not having seen the film for about a year. It’s how I remember first seeing it on VHS..

The blue tints are really horrible, I can’t stand them.

JUSTY! A humble suggestion, given your chops at editing:

Edit the blues/dark tones out of the film. Easier said than done, true, but you’d be the one doing it; not I. 😉

That’s actually possible – a bit – but it still doesn’t look too good. 😛

    HERE.
$21.99 NEW at Amazon (any place else?). The photo’s the washed-out one, no ‘TVYNS’ subtitle (ignore the white border you see there; I was lazy and neglected to crop it), and the 1997 release date is present in the technical info downward on the page…!

Do my eyes deceive me? Can somebody tell me what key detail I’m missing here?

This could be worth the gamble, folks, if you’ve not yet managed to find the ORIGINAL release of — yes, The Greatest Film of All Time — THE EXORCIST on DVD. Apparently it’s either a reissue of that scar(c)e classic version, or they discovered unsold stock of it in their warehouses and have put it back up for sale. How nicely bizarre.

    Behold:

Ps. Incidentally, I haven’t viewed this version of THE EXORCIST in ages. Time to dust it off, methinks.
