    I have a question for the older Exorcist fan…before TVYNS, since when are you aware about the famous missing scene, the spider-walk? have you already known that this sequence was missing for the original movie during the 70's or before the documentary “fear of God ? What your initial reaction about this weird scene and his absence in the original Exorcist (sorry for my bad english)?

    I ask that because there are several movies with a “spider-walk” who seem to be a “rip-off” from the movie…I know that there are the novel, but I find that strange that it was so close, except maybe if the sequence was already know with various pictures etc…

    The spider-walk can be seen in movie like “Beyond the door”, according imdb also in a movie called “Ruby” (1977), and “in the mouth of Madness” by Carpenter….I'm really curious to know about fans reaction about this weird missing scene or about the others sequences (this question is about them too)….thanks for advance for the answer;

    Worked fine for me. I disagree with Friedman that it ruined the announcement of Burke's death by creating a double climax. Coming moments after the announcement, the spider walk complemented the first, psychological, shock, with a second, physical shock. As to the bloody mouth version vs. the tongue flicking version, they both work for me. I personally haven't seen the spiderwalk done in any other movies outside of the Exorcist franchise – it's used in Blatty's Legion with Ms Cleilia's ceiling walk, and is mimicked in Exorcist: the Beginning with the possessed woman's cave/rock climbing escapades.

    You can see the tongue version of the scene on YouTube. I have yet to say which version is my favorite. 🙂 Wish the deleted scenes and more were on a dvd.

    88,

    You can buy the director's cut and see just about everything you want on that version … but wait … we should have a 40th anniversary edition lurking in the shadows as it reappears more often in a new format, etc. often.

    Thanks and I was thinking about that last night. I shall keep my eyes out then. Thank you again. 🙂 I sure can’t wait for next year now! 😀 I am or did buy the director’s cut but do not think its on there. But I can double check when it comes. For $4.85 can’t beat that! 😉

    Howdy! By providing a huge selection of classic movies, the online platform turner classic movies has become very popular among many people who happily subscribe to them. In their movie library, every user will find something interesting and will be satisfied with watching it. It is worth saying that users can stream movies on almost any device, and usually no one has any difficulties with this, for which many highly appreciate them.
