There are some similarities in terms of style that is impossible not to notice. I just took these snapshots for comparison:

-Mom leaning over the bed to kiss her daughter’s cheek. The camera angle is pretty much the same.

-Rhoda’s bedroom looks a lot like Regan’s bedroom with dark old wood.

-I’m sure that “stealing candy from jar and Mom not let her eat it” moment was inspired by The Bad Seed.

 

– The scene in which Christine tries to take the bag from Rhoda’s hands she snaps, “Give it to me!” & in The Exorcist while Chris tries to take the candy from Regan’s hand she’s saying the same thing.

 

-both girls are only children who live with their mothers while Dad is away and both portray evil on screen.

-The mothers first names are the same: Christine, Chris (short for Christine)

-Rhoda’s name starts with letter R and so does Regan’s.

-Both movies made Patty McCormack & Linda Blair huge stars

This is an amazing comparison.The bedroom shot is what just blew me away.The only thing about both girls portraying evil, is that Rhoda was evil in nature when Regan clearly was not.Regan was victimized and tormented by an evil entity.Besides that though, WOW!It would have been a scream if “The Exorcist” had the same kind of ending as “The Bad Seed”.You know, when all of the actors and actresses are introduced as though it is a stage play?The part where Patty McCormick is taken over her mother's knee and given a spanking?

I remember this movie very well… I think I saw it at least three times. And you are right… there are absolutely some style similarities… Well about the spank ending… it wouldn't have worked with the Exorcist just for the fact that Reagan was totally innocent…

Once I was in Corinth and was going bungee jumping, but I got scared at the last minute and didn’t jump. I sat in the café and logged into unlim luck to forget my embarrassment. At first, the experience was disappointing. I played for a while and didn’t win anything, my balance had reached a critical point. I was sure it was a waste of time. Just as I was about to close the page, I hit five symbols in a row. I couldn’t believe it! From complete failure, I found myself with a serious profit in my pocket, enough to treat the friends who had been mocking me.
