ParticipantIm very eager to See this.
With the New things that are taking place that concern the whole Prequel Situation, Perhaps it could get Morgan Creek interested in actually Giving DOMINION a “Real” Post Production.
I think it Deserved at least Standard treatment from the Studio, but even when deciding to release the Film, they didn’t really make a real Effort To Help Schrader Properly Finish The Film.
But instead they treated it Like a Last ditch Effort to make back some of the Money they Spent making to Films.
Shit, Thats exactly what there motivation was.
Just Let Paul strugle to complete it, and they slap it on DVD and hope they get some Damn $$$$$$$$$$$$$January 20, 2008 at 11:59 PM #19880Jason Stringer
KeymasterI’m looking forward to this, also! Can’t wait to hear when we will be able watch it – the trailer has me drooling!

ParticipantGang, thanks for your enthusiasm. It’s appreciated.
This is a new frontier for me, writing non-fiction. I can tell you this, though:
Yours and othersā enthusiasm has been met by the likes of Paul Schrader, Tim Silano, Clara Bellar, Julian Wadham, Ralph Brown, Eddie Osei, Ilario Bisi-Pedro, Caleb Carr, Sam Schrader, Dog Fashion Disco, and Morgan Creek⦠just to name a few of the Dominion camp.
Of course, a couple of those folks participated in both films. That said, Iām hoping more members of Renny Harlinās camp see the light of this golden opportunity of mine to present the facts about both films, objectively ā without vilifying a soul ā and not just offer up the predictable, over-reported negative aspects, if I can possible help it. And accordingly, report on, rather, the very real and present positives both prequels do in fact possess (no pun intended).
Fortunately, even if not all of the āBeginningā key players ā or very few of them ā wish to chime in, thereās a veritable cornucopia of cast and crew commentary Iāve harvested from web and print articles, guaranteeing a balance of content to this book; there just may be a noticeable excess of new and fresh āSchrader/Dominionā material in comparison to āHarlin/Beginningā. Such is life sometimes, so I make due, right? RIGHT? Right.
But ultimately, folks will find oodles upon oodles of insight and facts to read and ponder, about either film they desire to study. Trivia buffs will, predictably, also find triva. Something for everyone, whether you admire or despise one or both dueling prequels to The Exorcist.
Accept no substitutes. Ego te provoco.
Yours (until my body rots and lies stinking in the earth),
MG

ParticipantTo be precise, a documentary on Paul Schrader’s Exorcist prequel DOMINION‘s resurrection.
In my research for my book I wound up getting in touch with Tim Silano, who helped Paul Schrader finish his film. He shared the trailer with me:

ParticipantScott Stambler, operator of the Paul Schrader Blogspot (link above), and composer for Silano’s documentary, posted this as a comment there:
“They are running a little behind in the DVD finishing. We hope to have it up here for sale ASAP. This whole project is a labor of love…”
Tim Silano has also confirmed this news for me. Hang on, guys. I assure you, it will compel your time and fandom once you hit ‘play’ on thy DVD players.
Rolling away the stone,
M.I.K.E.
