ParticipantHi all! Â I’m new here, and will certainly be back to have more intellectual discussions about (one of) my favorite films of all time, but for now, I wanted to pop in and let you all know (in case someone’s not tipped anyone off already): Â Walmart has “The Exorcist: Extended Director’s Cut” dvd (not the Blu ray) in the $5 bargain bins! Â At least here in Atlanta. Â If you want to take advantage of picking up this awesome deal for you or some friends, head out and grab them up! Â I couldn’t believe it was/is on sale for so cheap! Â Hope this helps you all pick up some extra copies for friends as I did.Â

KeymasterWelcome to Everything Exorcist, JSM.
The Exorcist for $5, is a bargain! I remember paying $50 for the first ever Exorcist DVD over 10 years ago.
I suspect they'd be happy with selling them in the bargain bin to make way for 40th Anniversary releases next year.

ParticipantThanks, Captain Howdy! Â Glad to be here! Â I think you're absolutely right. Â They most likely are selling those copies to make room for the new release coming next year. Â Still, being the classic it is (and having purchased it for so much more at various times over the years), I couldn't believe it's available at that price. Â The hoarder in me took over, and I was picking up copies for friends, whether they want it or not! Â You should have seen the face of the cashier. Â I think I frightened her. Â Lol! Â I can't mimic her voice in print, obviously, but she was a very, VERY southern-speaking woman at a Walmart in the outskirts of Atlanta. Â She looked at me like I was going to put a spell on her or something, and went (in her deep southern drawl), “I went to see this movie when it first came out. Â Loooord, mah sister had me take a tranquilizer before I even went in!” Â I laughed out loud!

ParticipantNo problem, Regan 88! Â You might better hurry, though: Â They're getting harder and harder to find. Â Amazon had them for $5 a couple weeks ago, too, but they're back up to $10. Â Walmarts around here seem to be running pretty low, but every now and then you'll strike gold. Â Head out to the suburbs of wherever you are…places where there are a lot of conservatives. Â LOL! Â I've found more copies in those places.Â

ParticipantNot only does amazon have it for $3.99 today, Best Buy does, too! Â The 40th Anniversary edition must be coming out soon. Â I've never seen a classic movie go for so cheap in my life!
