JP
ParticipantFatherbowdern,
Regan is playing with the ping pong paddle and ball. When she sets it down, she puts the ball under the paddle – causing it to rest at an angle. After she sets it down, the paddle switches from “angled” to laying flat on the table. It does this a couple times!!July 9, 2008 at 11:59 PM #20634fatherbowdern
ParticipantThanks, JP! I’ll look for this one, too. I think I read something about the planchette moving from one place in one scene and moving to them being shot at a totally different angle. This has driven me nuts because I don’t find it, but others swear they do.

ParticipantYou’re very welcome!
I know, I can’t find the planchette one either! It must be hard to spot.
Let me know if you find it – I’d love to see.July 9, 2008 at 11:59 PM #20637fatherbowdern
ParticipantWill do. PS: Here’s a site with “all” the bloopers, but I didn’t search it enough yet to find the Ouija Board one:

I especially like this one:
“After he stirs it, Det. Kinderman lifts the spoon out of his coffee as he starts to talk to Chris at the dinner table. A perfect reflection of the cameraman can be seen in the left of the spoon.”
Have to look for it now!

ParticipantThat coffee one sounds very interesting! I just watched that part in the movie to look for it, and I didn’t notice it at all. I even paused it and watched in slow motion.
I guess it’s not as perfect a reflection as the website says.July 15, 2008 at 11:59 PM #20660fatherbowdern
ParticipantHey JP … I haven’t had time to check it out. I have 4x’s zoom on my DVD player, so I’ll try to look for it. But, I image the image will be blurry when it’s zoomed in … guess we’ll have to wait for the Blu-Ray version. 🙂

ParticipantJP … I did see it! 🙂
The cameraman is to the left and the light box is to the right. Apparently a white sheet is thrown around the background, but the silhouette of the man (on the far left) and his camera (closer to the middle left) are there. Pretty cool when you see it!

ParticipantBowdern, please post screen shot. Thanks.

ParticipantAhhh, postings are for our best friend, Justin, on CH.com. He is our miracle on animated .gifs. (Justin, you can see what I am referring to on the first and second dip of the silver teaspoon into the coffee cup by Lt. Kinderman).
If I can find a way to post it (I don’t know how, I will).
Captain, how the heck do I post something directly on here? If Justin is away and can’t, I will. Thanks! 🙂

ParticipantHey All,
Does anyone know exactly where the Ouija Board blooper is supposed to be in The Exorcist. I’ve played that scene over and over and I can’t find it anywhere, but I read about and have no idea what’s going on. I know about most of the bloopers like the cigarette ones, but the Ouija has eluded me.
Any ideas and please give me specifics?

ParticipantFatherbowdern,
that’s awesome that you saw it!! I think my DVD player has a zoom feature, I could try that…or I could just wait ’till someone posts a screenshot.August 20, 2008 at 11:59 PM #20826fatherbowdern
ParticipantHey JP,
Yes … it’s pretty cool since most of us never look for things that are sometimes so obvious … just like the ping pong paddle and ball not being in sync in continuity. I still wish I knew what the heck folks are referring to when they are talking about the Ouija Board pointing to one letter and then pointing to another on its own.

ParticipantI never realized this film had all these goofs. But it will not ruin my love for all the films. Which by the way I bought almost all of this past three days. Minus one. 😉
