Oh yeah. Blatty used the calendar of 1966, so he died on Mother’s Day (May 15). I wonder why he didn’t use the calendar of 1969 as the novel is set in that year. It was mentioned that Karl was hired by Chris in 1963 and had been with her for almost 6 years–therefore 1969 lol.

IF THEY EVER MAKE A MINI-SERIES, THEY WILL, TRUST ME. THEY SHOULD USE SUBTITLES SHOWING THE MONTHS AND DATES LIKE IT IS DESCRIBED IN THE NOVEL. A TIMELINE, EVEN HAVING THE EXORCISM RUN A FEW DAYS LIKE IN THE NOVEL. EVEN WITH TODAY’S TECHNOLOGY BEING UTILIZED IN THE MINI-SERIES SUCH AS CAPTAIN HOWDY SPEAKING TO REGAN THROUGH THE COMPUTER, WITH IMAGES OF HIS FACE FLASHING QUICKLY ON THE SCREEN, THE SAME WAY, THE SUBLIMINAL SHOTS WERE USED. ALSO, WHEN REGAN IS TIED TO THE BED, SHE IS NOW BEING WATCHED BY WEBCAM FROM OUTSIDE THE ROOM, FOR SAFETY REASONS, BUT THE DEVIL PLAYS TRICKS WITH WHO EVER IS WATCHING OVER HER BY COMPUTER. I PICTURE ONE SCENE WHERE KARL IS WATCHING ON THE SCREEN , HE DOZES OFF AND WHEN HE WAKES UP, HE SEES A CLOSE-UP OF REGAN STARING AT HIM, EVEN THOUGH SHE IS STILL TIED TO THE BED. REMEMBER, THE DEVIL PLAYS TRICKS WITH YOUR MIND. JUST A THOUGHT THAT I HAD IN MY HEAD.

I think Blatty messed up his dates. The Exorcist novel follows a 1966 calendar but, Mother’s day would have been the first Sunday of the month- May 8th.
At best, Karras would have died Sunday May 15th in the Exorcist novel…
In Legion, he (supposedly) died March 13th, 1971.
