oh yeah almost forgot, the holy grail of exorcist outakes, the captain howdy test footage. apparently its extremely shocking, and as far as i know the only person to see it not actually involved with the making of the film is mark kermode. damn he’s a lucky bastard! i remember reading somewhere that he described this footage as eileen dietz’s face as a maelevolent rage of fury. damn i think i’m probably gonna die before i ever see this!

well i thought with all the exorcist buffs on this site i thought a few of you might have had some views on this? surely i’m not the only one who feels this strongly about seeing the remaining footage or a new dvd package.
i remember one time we were all gonna pull together and get something going, like for starters a e-mail to warner home video, or maybe even a e-mail to friedkin. maybe i’ll just do it myself, if anyone else is with me i’d love the support if not then that’s up to you.

this is not really a new post but me going over old ground again!
being a massive fan of this classic, i’m beginning to lose faith that we will ever A) get a new release stuffed with new extras B) ever get to see the remaining outakes that are now quite happily rotting away beyond reastoration point.
who like me feels this is such a waste?
i really wish warner bros. would get their act together, i mean this has happened so many times with other classic films. this is the unfortunate issue with film, after so many years it starts to degrade.
one more point i know a short while a ago Cap was gonna see if we could all pull together and get something done on this matter. i’m sure justin and blizzy feel the same as their are both oracles of the exorcist world.
i know i’m rambling on here but i feel so strongly about this. lemme know how you all feel about this.

Fellini, if you have a round-robin email, I’m sure the Captain can sneak into WB and to Friedkin, or better yet, to the producer and writer, Bill Blatty. I’d just love to see a HD/Blu-Ray version, but that’s not happening anytime soon … unfortunately.
