I like the hair regeneration, but prefer the original version. Excellent work, though, it just is more distracting than the original version, which is more dream-like and supernatural — “Paul Schrader” if you will. It’s surreal and demonstrates that things are returning to normal, the demon has been exorcised, etc.
Your new version, no offense, makes me think the character has died, and that’s his soul “going up to Heaven.”
A great compromise, though, would be to have Cheche not disappearing, but remaining there on the ground. Freezing the shot of of him there on the ground would make it appear like it was Paul Schrader’s doing, in fact. Schrader uses still shots in a number of his films. 🙂
So, waiting till Cheche’s hair regenerates, then: we freeze the frame of him lying on the ground, still. Then, after a few moments of letting the audience catch it’s breath, we cut to the very next scene the official version of Dominion features.

As I said its a Variation on the new shot, this version has that light in it, the new footage does not, plus it hasn’t been trimed rite to substitute tohe other shot, so it’s longer than intended, but I was playing around with differn’t ideas, I had thought it would be neet to actually see Cheche change back into himself, Ive got mixed feelings on the official shot, of wether it was Paul’s vision, or the fact that Morgan creek pulled the plug, before post production could be completed.
Plus I made his leg change back to a crippled one. I also had thought of it as his hair growing out of his head.
I admit Im doing a few freez frames but it’s more because Im doing this without any money and limited software.
I have a question, are you saying to cut to the clinic with or without the white light. also the shot Of the Demon going into the hyena, when I first saw Dominion it was on a bootleg disc with really bad picture quality, and at the time I thought the eyes turned yellow not red, and I thought that was conecting to the demon eyes in the Exorcist, then when the Dvd came out I found out the eyes were red.
Ive considerd doing Greenish-yellow eyes for the hyena.
But I’ll post the Raw Footage of the new shot of Cheche, and a Pic showing the eye colors I had in mind for Mr.Hyena.raw footage.

Eye colors… here’s what I think:
Hyenas keep the RED (yellow makes ’em look silly). Cheche/humans (like in the other films) get the YELLOW.
Cheche’s body… Wasn’t his leg left normal in Schrader’s version? If so, might be hard to change it in the final scene (with Rachel and Merrin), as well.
And to answer your question, I was just trying to suggest that you leave the film as is — that is, cutting right from the end of the exorcism (if you decide against the fading-away of his body OR the “light burst”) to the rest of the film, keeping everything the Schrader version has post-exorcism.

Well I can’t make Cheche’s eyes yellow for the most part, I dont have that kind of software everything like that is being done Frame by frame, I can really only do that to him for a few seconds or so, but I’ll try a few more tricks with that, I understand about the Hyena, but it was just an idea, I only painted the eyes for the frames that I posted, intend to keep everything the same after the Exorcism, with the exception of the very last shot, I know a few People wanted Merrin walking out of the Doorway to fade into the shot of him walking toward the vatican in ETB, but thats up for debate.
And with Cheches leg, I get the drift.
but im going to try a little test and perhaps post it later.I spent all day puting together a clip that is pretty close to my vision of The Demon leaving Cheche, It’s a very good example of what Im aiming for.
It does indeed look good. The only thing that made me wonder — bear in mind, I’ve not seen the Schrader version is months now — was: are his leg and arm that return to being deformed the correct ones?

Regarding the schoolhouse murder sequence, given your great editing work HERE with this post-exorcism, I think it would be cool, nice of you, and quite easy to copy the image of the killed Jomo (the murderer of the kids) against the wall and paste it where in the same location during the same scene where he inexplicably VANISHES. Take a look — he vanishes. It hurts the scene. 😐 But maybe you can fix this. 😛 Please. 🙂

when I get to the School house scene I’ll take Jomo’s image and play around with it, see what I can come up with.
As for Cheche’s Arm and Leg, we Never get a good Look at his arm because he is laying on it, so I didn’t worry about that. His Leg though is something that is still an Issue, even though he had surgery on it, the Leg would still be very thin, When cutting back to the scene where we see Cheche on the grond his leg does acyually for some reason Look more Normal than it should, but I’ll see what kind of Compromise I can come up with.
As always thankyou for your observations and support.anyone who has seen Dominion, should remember Cheche’s disapearing act when the Demon is cast out, He disapears into thin air, which didnt realy make sense, and was kind of dumb, that was something I had set ot to change with “THE FAN CUT”. I am posting the link to a variation of the new shot, and know the fans must decide if the shot will be used, or keep the old one, it’s a majority vote kinda thing, I havent actually reached the Exorcism, but when I do I need to already have the new shots made.
Remember this is a variation of the knew shot, but the big change is Chece becoming cheche again, not disapearing.
