You’ll get the music excerpts from The Exorcist: Music Excerpts From (1973 Film) [SOUNDTRACK] [IMPORT] Jack Nitzsche. I think you are referring to either “Polymorphia,” or “Night of the Electric Insects.” Search Amazon.com or somewhere similar and you may find 30 sec. freebie intros to see if that’s what your thinking of.
    I hope that helps.

Would anyone know the title or composer of the music that’s used in at least 2 Exorcist trailers? It’s a calm, quiet music that opens 2 trailers I know, with sort of a sound of breathing and whispering added. It’s used in the “flashing faces” trailer, before and while the narrator speaks, and before Lalo Schifrin’s loud and “scary” type of music kicks in. It also plays after Lalo Schifrin music stops, and it ends the trailer (again, with some breathing sounds and Pazuzu’s whispers.) It’s also played in the “something beyond comprehension” trailer on the 25th anniversary DVD.

I’m not sure but it sounds a little similar to the music that’s played in the film, when Father Merrin exits the taxi and stands before the house, outside on the street (and by the way, what’s the name of *that* music? I couldn’t find it listed on the soundtrack…) 🙁

I know what music this is… unfortunately, I don’t know its name. 🙂

It’s not on the 1 CD soundtrack or even the 2 CD one. I ended up grabbing it from the DVD’s audio when I was making my “Complete Soundtrack” a while ago. It actually sounds as if it was composed by Jack Nitzsche, and most of his incidental compositions were not included on any soundtrack, unfortunately…
