…sorry if this sounds…well, for lack of a better word, n00bish…this is just one of those interesting coincidences I’d only recently noticed in the movie, and oddly, not seen it mentioned any place else.

During the Iraq dig in the beginning of the movie, this was one of the first times I’d fully processed the ‘out of place’ item Merrin unearths is actually a St. Joseph’s medallion (…oddly cause I have a larger version of the same image.)

Anyways, to this end, I found this kind of an interesting twist since, among other things, St. Joseph is considered to be the patron saint of doubt/doubters.

Given Karras’s conflict later in the movie, just thought this seemed like a kind of cool bit of foreshadowing…

Again, sorry if this has already been discussed. Only found out about this site earlier today.
