I’d be happy with the last shot of DOMINION *FADING INTO* the E:TB footage of Merrin walking in the street toward the Vatican, and FADING INTO the SATAN’S MARCH/credits.
I would also like all of the deleted scenes carefully reinserted.
And if I had to ask for one more thing, it would be the nixing of the “DOMINION: PREQUEL TO THE EXORCIST” title and replacing it with: “EXORCIST: DOMINION”.
Other than these SPECIAL REQUESTS (hint hint), I say, leave the film as is; no color or effects adjustments. Please.

The only thing I’d want changed in Dominion is the sound. It’s not ‘horror’ enough until the end, it needs to be creepy. The effects of course could be improved too, but that’s all IMO.
I have no idea what you could add from ETB, any ‘real’ location shots and stuff have been taken from Dominion. The deleted Dominion scenes from the DVD would be great back in, but the quality isn’t that great..

The sound is a maijor thing im working on, I wish I could improve the Cgi but it’s not really in the cards, I tried to improve the quality of the Deleted scenes but it didn’t look much better, there were a few things from ETB that i want to use in a second dream sequence that would come later in the film.
Im not a pro, but Im trying to do the best I can, in the end the Picture Quality will Probably be 9.5/10I know there are some people who think Dominion is fine the way it is, But it’s not what it could have been if Morgan Creek had truely completed Post Production on the film.
I am open to any ideas about what could bee improved in the movie(by editing of course)
What made me decide to do this re-edit is the fact that something similer has been done at the official Highlander site, 2 of the Movies have gotten re-edited, and made available to fans.
The idea of using the last shot from the beginning is something I have thought alot about, but thats something that I will worry about when I get to that part of the Movie, as far as altering the sfx, the Only big thing im doing is at the end of the Exorcism when lte comes through the top of the church, I didn’t feel the light was big enough, ive done some tests that I think might work, The title is something debatable, “Exorcist:Dominion” is the first title I had herd of for the movie, then I herd of Exorcist 4.1 and then Exorcist The beginning.
But these opinions and wishes are definetly being taken into consideration, after all im only 1 fan, and this is something im doing for the fans, so It would be nice to see some wish lists.
Having the ending of ETB put at the end of Dominion for an ‘official’ fan edit would be a bad idea. For one, that scene has extremely bad blue screen effects, and second it wouldn’t look right have 2 shots right after eachother of Merrin waking away from the camera.
I’d like to see, actually, after Dominion ends, have the scene when Merrin arrives at the MacNeil and then quickly cut to black with the loud “MERRRIIIIIIIIN” scream.
Oh, and colour correction could be good.
The first ever footage of Dominion seen had a very different tone (seemed darker and more gritty and also had some extra dialogue that should have stayed – and even better acting) compared to the scene in the final film. It’s such a shame this footage and the deleted scenes are bad quality because it would be great to edit back in.
These are all good points, tell me how to post pics on here and I can send comparison shots for all of you to help make the choices.
Editing a film isn’t easy, and I’m sure hatter76 doesn’t want to spend hours and hours making a load of different cuts. Probably just wants to get all the best ideas, and put them together as he sees fit. Which, I think would be better. 😛

If only one edit will be made, then the whole of the shot footage of Paul Schrader’s film should NOT be cut down or modified; if anything, ADDED TO — the title change not withstanding.
…again: IF only one fan edit is to be made.
Incidentally, what if this first fan edit happened to be “my” custom one (with ideas above) — and, from that one, any additional changes/edits/modifications y’all have in mind could be done for a second edit?
I figure, initially the more completed footage in there, the better; even the deleted scenes, and even E:TB stuff.
I’m not saying the whole film should be like that, but some – scenes like the one I posted above – the tone is much better.
Oh, but no lighting changes. The film presents a different story. “Merrin’s journey”. This isn’t the darker, modern, gritty 1970s. Dig…?

I’d give my left elbow for one or more versions, as each of these ideas sounds excellent; some more than others. I’ve love to see ’em all. But I want to see them ALL. 😐 🙂 😉
