captain howdy appears in THE EXORCIST: THE BEGINNING

I was watching the Exorcist: the beginning the other night at work and decided to listen to the director’s commentary. Renny Harlin explains that Captain Howdy’s face makes appearances during the movie. The first is shown during the flashback where the girl is shot by the German officer, Father Merrin wakes up and smashes a mirror. In the cracked mirror, Captain Howdy’s face appears in a very small image. The next appearance is during the exorcism, when Father Merrin is pushed down the rocky steps in the cave by the demon. He stands up with the little boy next to him, in the shadows behind Merrin, Captain Howdy appears again. I don’t know if Captain Howdy’s appearance was mentioned in these posts.
