Here, here!
A re-release of The Exorcist III DVD with William Peter Blatty providing a comprehensive audio commentary would also be appreciated — along with any leftover footage that did not appear on the E! True Hollywood Story documentary, re: The Exorcist III / Legion.
This may also benefit from one of those online petitions — the kind that contributed to a certain Paul Schrader film seeing the light of day (no pun intended — on second thought, 5 points to whoever can catch the reference!). 😛
Godspeed, Exorcist fandom!

WB:
Please don’t take any of this to mean interest in anything new having to do with John Boorman’s EXORCIST II, UNLESS you so kindly desire to give fans what is humbly asked for above. We’ll take all the HERETIC you care to dish out if it also means, well… You know.
Thanks… REALLY.

Please, please put the original theatrical cut of the movie on the DVD. Not the 25th anniversary, not The Version You’ve Never Seen – but the original, unaltered theatrical cut.
TVYNS is widely available, the 25th anniversary is not very hard to find either, but the original cut is rarely seen anymore..
Then, all the deleted scenes that can be recovered – including what was added to TVYNS – can be put as special features… as well as hopefully all the behind the scenes footage possible (make up tests, Captain Howdy footage, working with Mercedes McCambridge, and the general behind the scenes filming footage)!
We hear a lot of stories about things that happened on set, like Friedkin firing off guns and such. It would be great to see that – as I am sure some of it was recorded.
All, please concentrate requests pertaining to the ORIGINAL EXORCIST film only – we want to concentrate our efforts on getting a release of that film first. Asking for releases from Exorcist II and Legion may be a little overwhelming (and confusing). We don’t want to bite off more than we can chew…
Although we will take whatever we can get!
I agree with Justin – the absolute original would be fantastic.
I can’t believe this is finally happening!
PLEASE Warner Brothers release all of the remaining deleted footage, especially THE TRIP TO WASHINGTON scene (it must be 2 minutes long). I’ve been waiting to see it for almost 7 years!! PLEASE Put it on the extras section of the DVD!
Release all of this, PLEASE!!!!!
FUNNY NOISES
COMING UP WITH A NAME FOR THE BIRD
ORIGINAL SEQUENCE BEFORE THE ATTIC SCENE
TRIP TO WASHINGTON
Caps, couldn’t you inform William Peter Blatty about this open letter to Warner Brothers? He’s always wanted to see this footage so he could support us!
Good idea, Sof. I’ve never seen the original. I want to see that more than anything! Please release it!
Yes, Warner’s, if you’re watching, please release the original with the “added features” being requested here. It would be a pioneering achievement, and, I’m sure, quite marketable beyond “fandom”.
We’re not asking for a re-cut. Just a reel of deleted scenes where everything from the vault could be viewed. It would be incredible to see!
Amen! I’m also asking for support from my people!
