Both scenes are really corny. The pluses of the witch doctor scene: 1. The spikes Lamont has to walk across. That’s cool and you cringe when he hits them. 2. How to destroy the evil Regan is explained more.
Minuses: 1. Spitting a leopard. WTF?!?

Scientist: I want to cut out all the locust stuff so this scene really does me no good.

    Any other thoughts.

Just my personal opinion, but if one scen goes, they all would have to, other wise the Movie would make even less sense and be more fonfusing.

I am just trying to make a good picture. And with these hokey scenes, it is kind of hard to.

Trying to make a good film out of EII (and not I’m being cynical), would be probably one of the most difficult and challenging undertakings ever to set yourself to and just as difficult (if not more so) in trying to be successful at it. Considering there are so many hokey elements in it, which is why it is one of the worst films ever made, it’s very hard to avoid its inherit vile creative decisions.

I always figured that both scenes were important !(although confusing)Earl Jones was never a witch doctor, that was just a “dream” of Lamont, which symbolised that Kokumo was one of the chosen few who could and had resisted Pazuzu. He was REAllY A SCIENTEST with little recollection of what had happened to him as a child but who was interestedin the nature of the locusts.
I think the film became confusing as it dealt a lot with dreams.Pazuzu was Regans dream name and to call forth the demon in order to fly with it seemed to cause the caller to brush wings with it,as later happened to Lamont.
This is why nobody in the village knew who Kokumo was.he was long gone,a scientist.the rest was a dream.

Hey guys. For my re-edit, which James Earl Jones scene should I use? The one where he is a witch doctor or the one where he is a scientist? To make the story flow, you have to have one of the two scenes? Which one do you prefer? Also, are there any other scenes which MUST be taken out?

There is no editing tech in existance capable of salvaging “Exorcist II: The Heretic”. It is a tribute to Jones that he was able to command any onscreen respect after appearing in disco-grasshopper drag spitting tomatoes. Truly awful!! And the cheerful doctor spouting hoo ha like; “We like to call her the good locust” isn't any better. I wish you the best in your re-editing but please forgive, I'll not be seeing it. Boorman's cut was more than enough.
