ParticipantI forgot something 😀
Why is it called director’s cut and not writer’s cut? Wasn’t friedkin in the first place who decided to remove those scenes?July 26, 2006 at 11:59 PM #15385thunder.scripts

KeymasterI’m not sure I understand? Regardless – my opinion is that the 25th Anniversary DVD is one of the best original versions of the film available on DVD today. The colours are natural and the sound isn’t over-done. I believe it’s as close to the original as you can get in decent quality.

ParticipantIt would be kinda nice if WB or Someone else would, recut The Exorcist, but only inserting the scenes from TVYNS
that are actually relavent to the story, Most of the clinical stuff, the Additional Merrin stuff etc, The ending with Kinderman and Dyer.
Basicly TVYNS without alo the extra flashe images and sounds, keeping CH flash from The clinic.
Taking away the opening showing the house before the credits, keeping maybe 1 0r 2 howdy flashes but nothing in your face.??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Keymasterhatter76, that would be fantastic, I think it’s what should have been done in the first place.
Howdy: thanks, that’s exactly what I asked 😉 I’ll look for the 25th anniversary version.
Thanks a lot!!

KeymasterI keep banging on about this but the original WB release is the ‘original’ version shown at cinemas. Its lacking in the extras dept though.

ParticipantI’ll try to rent both and see which one I prefer (the original or the 25th anniversaty). However, I don’t think the first one will be to easy to find.

KeymasterWell, I rented the 25th anniversary version and it’s already blue 🙁
I’ll guess I have to find the original dvd somewhere.

ParticipantYou know, in Israel it’s not very hard to find the version-that-haven’t-been-touched DVD. We don’t have the 25th anniversary, so it’s either this or TVYNS. TVYNS of course is a lot more common to find, but i’ve seen the 1997 version in stores a few times.
Well, now i’m hunting for it, so hopefully, i’d find it soon^_^August 2, 2006 at 11:59 PM #15432Jason Stringer
KeymasterAnd you had to come here to brag about it? 😛 just joking.
I think I’ll settle for the 25th version, there’s nothing else I can do.
Unless… would someone be willing to share the dvd, create a torrent or something? I know it’s illegal, but even though I’d love to buy the movie, I just can’t find it!
PS: If any admin thinks this should be removed, go ahead, I understand.
Thanks!

ParticipantI’m looking for the most ‘original’ version of the exorcist. I’ve seen that one and the VYNS and I prefer the former. It’s nice to have all those scenes in the movie, but the little demons appearing everywhere drive me nuts. Plus, why the hell did they cut the spider scene? the best part is gone :(:( whatever…
My question is, is there any difference between the first dvd and the 25th anniversary? (in regards to the movie itself, extras aside) Which one would you recommend?
Thanks a lot!!
FedePS: please excuse my english.
