ParticipantCaptain, that's a great video! What impressed me the most is it's soundtrack. You must have put a lot of work in it and, for me, it's a great proof of the love you have for one of the greatest movie of all time.

ParticipantBut seriously, an on-screen adaptation of the second draft of the novel would, technically, not be a remake of the first movie.

ParticipantTDYNR (The draft you never read) is an enormous step toward TRYNHF (the remake you never hoped for).

ParticipantI'm not that new. I'm a member since 2006. Mostly a reader though. Here's one of the first things I posted :

I offer my thanks to captainhowdy.com member bursyl for leading me in the direction of yet another beating of the dead horse regarding the bloody-variant spiderwalk version.
You're welcome FB. I love this site. It's a place where I can learn a lot of things about my favorite movie and about wet linguini noodle beating.

Dear Mother of God, Ceru! Don't you know using the word CGI on here can get you into hot water? Just kidding … I noticed the change, but dare not to mention it after my bloody spiderwalk debate!
The colors are wonderful and thank God for Owen Roizman!Father Bowdern
FB, the Blu-Ray book states that the spiderwalk scene “has been digitally enhanced from its original incarnation to speed up Regan's movements and add in a mouthful of blood”. Maybe the scene has been filmed with a bloody mouth that was later CGI-enhanced. In the “Great Spiderwalk Debate”, maybe everybody was right.

ParticipantI think they tweaked the colors for the green band trailer. Chris doesn’t seem to have blood on her face.

If The Last Exorcism combines some of the aspects of Paranormal Activity and The Exorcist, it may work. Borrowing from these films means using the Paranormal Activity camera movements (from the “real” crew filming the events – see below) and providing creatively and intermittent believable moments of shock value like The Exorcist
I agree. It could make a good movie. Let’s wait and see.

ParticipantYeah, I noticed it some time ago. The music coming from the room next to Karras’ is also an excerpt from Tubular Bells. And, by the way, it’s because of that scene that I occasionnaly drink Chivas Regal.
bursyl
ParticipantAnd I know a lot of people who have never met that think that if the scene existed and was aired 50 times a years, it would’ve at the very least ended up on YouTube.
Come on, the scene doesn’t exist. If it did, it would’ve jeopardized the rest of the movie.

ParticipantMy 2 cents :
– Ask people who have never met if it’s true that The Exorcist originally lasted 4 and a half hours and they’ll probably say yes. The same could apply to the existence of Burke’s death scene.
– The Merrin death scene from E2 is a very possible explanation or maybe Karras rolling down the stairs in E3.
– Or people mix up Burke’s DEATH scene with Burke’s MORGUE scene in which Kinderman see Denning’s body with it’s head turned completely around. It’s in the book and, if my memory’s correct, has been shot by Friedkin.

ParticipantIt has already been made.

ParticipantOoops! Image tags don’t work.
Update: I did it. 🙂

ParticipantThe boxset contains “The Exorcist : the original classic”. Which DVD is it? The first edition or the 25th anniversary edition?
