ParticipantAt my son's tee ball game tonight, there was a girl on the other team named Regan. I'm guessing her parents just don't know. Or, better yet, maybe they do…
First time I've encountered that name in the real world. As a child's given name, I mean, not a surname. Anyone else ever run into it, especially with people born after 1973?

ParticipantNever met anyone in real life called Regan, only a few online. I think it's a really nice name, though, but it always gets associated with Regan MacNeil (which isn't a bad thing IMO, but it seems to be to those with the name
).June 15, 2011 at 3:54 AM #25247epicwin123
ParticipantI actually love the name Regan. I named one of my dolls Regan, and a character too (I create stories.) I, of course, only heard the name after I saw The Exorcist. But personally, I love it. I would love to name my daugther that, in the FAR furture.

ParticipantWhile I was in college, we held many house parties. Â At one particular end-of-the-semester party/my birthday bash, circa 1996, I met a cute, long-haired brunette girl who introduced herself as Regan. My eyes widened, “Oh, like in that movie The Exorcist!” I bluntly said (I'd had a few drinks and my inhibitions were pretty much gone at that point). Â She nodded and said “Yeah, like in the movie.” Â She said her parents didn't name her after the character, can't recall what their actual reason was, though. Â She, along with everyone else at the party that night, signed my birthday card!
If I can find the photo I took of her hanging out with her friends that night, I'll show it here 😉

KeymasterWhile my wife was pregnant with our first I suggested Regan if it were to be a girl. She demanded 'no!' instantly. Worth a shot. When we found it was to be a boy, she immediately said “no” to Damien, as well.

ParticipantOh, I like the name Damien too. To bad she said no, but then maybe naming a child after a character in a movie like this isn't such a good idea either. 🙂

ParticipantDamien is actually a really cool name. I would definetly name my future son that. Either that or name him after my older brother, Colton.
