ParticipantYour Damn rite I was scared, and unfortunately your rite about it being inevitable, and it will probably be bad enough to use as toilet paper.

ParticipantI think the same as you Vess. It will probably suck if it comes out at all.

ParticipantIf there’s going to be a remake I want it to be a TV mini-series.

ParticipantI’d love that — a TV mini-series. Set in any time, and by Blatty (hopefully), it could only be better than a big-screen desecration of the film. I think more thought and imaginiation would be required, by default.

Participant“Last week on Extreme Exorcist: Home Edition, little Regan began cursing and pissing. Join us for more mischief today!”
Sorry, I should learn when to shut my yap.
Still, if (or when *sigh*) there’s a remake, my curiosity’ll be overwhelming..
I’m like a kid experiencing a new flavour of candy or something. It’ll never be like the classics, but I’m still going to have a taste.August 28, 2006 at 11:59 PM #15637Jenny
ParticipantI have to (reluctantly) agree! I dont think anyone will be able to resist it, even if it is just to slag it off.

ParticipantI’m down for a mini series. I mean the original will remain forever awesome no matter how many remakes. Am I right or am I right?

ParticipantTrouble with a miniseries: how can suspense and dramatic tension be sustained over hours and days of broadcast? Will diluting the story in multiple episodes destroy the necessary intensity?

KeymasterIt would only be around 2 parts, right? I don’t think it could really effect the film.

ParticipantCould be, but even with only two parts, an “intermission” of even one day might dilute the suspense…

ParticipantLook, the remake’s gonna be animated. 😛

ParticipantIt has already been made.

ParticipantOoops! Image tags don’t work.
Update: I did it. 🙂

ParticipantAh, but you refer to the original Exorcist remake — the “intellectual one” where Mickey Mouse portrays Merrin.
The pic I provided, however, is for the film Disney “REALLY” wanted to make. Mickey Mouse returns for this one, only this time as the Captain Howdy visage.
They’ll be talking about these two films for years in film schools.
Sounds a lot like that PREQUELS debacle, no? 😛

ParticipantHar, har – I meant to say “inevitably upcoming”. 😀 Was anyone scared?
On to the topic: I think everyone will sadly agree that it is just a question of time until this horrible announcement is made for real. So… WHEN do you think the bad news will come?
I nominate the year 2009 as that of The Doom That Will Come. I suspect 2008, or maybe already 2007, will bring the announcement of the crime, and 2009 will be when the crime itself is committed.
