ParticipantI finally got to watch this last night.
Excellent job, a far more satisfying viewing experience than the theatrical cut. Considering what you had to work with I'm amazed at how well it's turned out. Shame you couldn't work the morphing head in there somewhere, but otherwise I doubt it could be done better.
Thanks, perked up a Sunday evening nicely.

ParticipantThankyou both, glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
The general response has been great. I'm chuffed the edit has gone down so well with both fans and the curious. Blatty had a great original story to tell, I hope I've done it some justice.
Jagged – I actually made no attempt to restore the deleted morphing head shot.
As I'm sure you know, that shot is part of the over-the-top exorcism and post-exorcism story elements added to Exorcist III.
Some individual shots from the Exorcist III climax I did find useful, of course. But even in isolation I found the tone of that head-morphing shot inappropriate, considering that I was trying to re-imagine the original, low-key final scene for Legion that Blatty and others haved described.

Cxx – I’m surprised you didn’t get the possesed patient/nurse’s demise – the 2nd cop shoots her! Admitedly there’s no cutway shot of him reaching for his gun, because no footage was available. It was the best I could do. There *is* a shot of Kindermans wife screaming and then covering her ears (it’s a reversed shot – originally it was: hands on ears, hands off ears and scream). I inserted this a split-second before the shooting to suggest she’s anticipatating it.You know, moments after posting my review the other day I did think just that to myself! I re-watched the scene and had a big ‘ahaaa’ moment. Thanks for clearing it up too, though I think most people will get it!

ParticipantAlthough I consider the film pretty good as delivered, I appreciate the work that went into the re-creation, and find it a most interesting alternative. I recommend it to all.

ParticipantLast week I won tickets to see the Simon Mayo & Mark Kermode Radio Show with Robert Redford, which I went to today

It was a pretty great day and I even got my 15 Seconds of fame when I contributed to the weekly Top 10 on Wittertainment for the Pirates review

You can download the podcast here http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/kermode my bit starts at 13 min 27 Secs

Oh, I also handed Mark Kermode a copy the Legion Fanedit after the show and he was delighted to receive it. So the great man himself now owns a copy of the edit!

Thanks for going to the trouble to get a copy in his hands. It seems the disc I posted to the BBC never got to him!
