    Hello everyone!
Who has been to Possum Kingdom Lake, tell us about the fishing there? We are going there with friends for a couple of days, we want to combine relaxation and a good catch. What are the best fishing spots? Is it true that you can catch a huge striped bass there? Is it better to take a boat or actually catch something from the shore? And what about night fishing – does it make sense? Is there an omik nearby? Thanks in advance for your advice!

A great place, we go there every summer, fishing at possum kingdom lake is awesome! This year the striped bass is especially biting – there are really big ones, one was found weighing almost 10 kg! We took live bait, especially shad – it works great. The coolest spots are Costello Island and the area near the dam. You can fish from the shore, but a boat gives you more chances. It’s better to catch catfish at night – they bite on chicken liver. By the way, there are many good campsites, but if you want comfort, it is better to rent a house near Cliffs Marina. The lake is gorgeous, even just for the views it is worth going there.

I prefer white bass, it goes well on a jig. The weather can affect it, but even in the heat at night there was a bite. And yes, it is better to look at the bottom map in advance – it helps a lot. Even if you do not fish, the lake is really beautiful and suitable for recreation.
