Next To Looking at Linda Blair, it is the only part of the Movie I Really Like.
When I was Younger, I would rent this Movie just so that I could watch the African Exorcism.

When I first Herd of a Prequel to the Exorcist, I assumed it Would be About These Flashbacks, but Ultimately Both Prequels Were Another Interpretation of The Events Mentiond to in the Original Exorcist.

But I don’t entirely dismiss this part of the Heretic as being Canon.

I think it is Possible that Merrin Performed another Exorcism in Africa.
I could Believe the Vatican Sending Merrin to Ethiopia to study a Boy Who has ther power to Heal others.
Merrin is No stranger to Africa He was there in the Prequels, So because he has had expiriance among African Natives this makes him more Qualified for the Assignment.
And Of Course this is an Opertunity For the Demon to Seek Revenge on Merrin, Merrin once again defeats Him, But Barely.

I have to agree with Horror 2. Morricone’s score is this film is friggin amazing. I’d buy it if it wasn’t $30 bucks everywhere I look…..
    That being said….
I do think a variation on what was used in the first film or the same drawn back tone of music would probably have added to an overall creepiness that this film lacked.
