Cxx – I'm surprised you didn't get the possesed patient/nurse's demise – the 2nd cop shoots her! Admitedly there's no cutway shot of him reaching for his gun, because no footage was available. It was the best I could do. There *is* a shot of Kindermans wife screaming and then covering her ears (it's a reversed shot – originally it was: hands on ears, hands off ears and scream). I inserted this a split-second before the shooting to suggest she's anticipatating it.
You know, moments after posting my review the other day I did think just that to myself! I re-watched the scene and had a big 'ahaaa' moment. Thanks for clearing it up too, though I think most people will get it!

Having done a few fanedits myself I was very impressed with how spicediver handled that scene. When you're dealing with limited footage you do have to think outside of the box sometimes to make a scene work and I think spicediver's alterations of the nurse and exorcism scene were perfect examples of that.

Father Merrin and Cxx,
Thanks for the reviews guys and I'm really glad you enjoyed it.
It seems a common thread on what *didn't* work is my adding dream footage to Dourif's "I have dreams of a rose…" line of dialogue while in his cell. I now think you and others are correct: its unnecessary and possibly detracts from the scene. In fact, I'm going to restore that scene to its original state and replace the current edit.
That's very big of you to go back and alter your edit based on the comments of others. Seriously man you wouldn't believe how touchy or offended some editors get when it comes to comments made about their edits. So you've gone up even further in estimations as editor, not because you're going back and changing you edit but because you've taken our comments in the positive and constructive way that they were intended :)
Plus this means I'm now gonna own both the new and now rare "Dreams of a Rose" version of your Legion edit! It's the smiles that keep us going. Don't you think?

Hi epicwin,
Can you please send me a PM with a detailed description of the error and I'll pass on to the site Admin?
You can also try another site http://www.fanedit.info – you will need the free file management progrom Jdownloader installed first.

Watched it two nights ago. Wonderful job, Spicediver! I actually prefer this over the "original."

spice,
My problems exist from a very slow connection. BTW, the last address is a 404 error. Must be possessed links! :)

We may ask what is relevant, but anything beyond that is dangerous.

I finally got to watch this last night.
Excellent job, a far more satisfying viewing experience than the theatrical cut. Considering what you had to work with I'm amazed at how well it's turned out. Shame you couldn't work the morphing head in there somewhere, but otherwise I doubt it could be done better.
Thanks, perked up a Sunday evening nicely.

Thankyou both, glad you enjoyed it. :)
The general response has been great. I'm chuffed the edit has gone down so well with both fans and the curious. Blatty had a great original story to tell, I hope I've done it some justice.
Jagged – I actually made no attempt to restore the deleted morphing head shot.
As I'm sure you know, that shot is part of the over-the-top exorcism and post-exorcism story elements added to Exorcist III.
Some individual shots from the Exorcist III climax I did find useful, of course. But even in isolation I found the tone of that head-morphing shot inappropriate, considering that I was trying to re-imagine the original, low-key final scene for Legion that Blatty and others haved described.

Although I consider the film pretty good as delivered, I appreciate the work that went into the re-creation, and find it a most interesting alternative. I recommend it to all.

Last week I won tickets to see the Simon Mayo & Mark Kermode Radio Show with Robert Redford, which I went to today
It was a pretty great day and I even got my 15 Seconds of fame when I contributed to the weekly Top 10 on Wittertainment for the Pirates review
You can download the podcast here http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/…..es/kermode my bit starts at 13 min 27 Secs
Oh, I also handed Mark Kermode a copy the Legion Fanedit after the show and he was delighted to receive it. So the great man himself now owns a copy of the edit!
